Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries in 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed lots of clients and hence, the name was established.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, because the need for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, when the requirements for new equipment to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. For instance, Genie went into production with articulated booms, light towers, man-lifts, telehandlers and stick booms.
Because of the economic slump in the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers throughout the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie machines continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their customers. The company is devoted to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering outstanding support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy equipment are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the equipment must be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC equipment along with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Compared to any of the various kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide more horizontal reach overall. These equipment are ideal for limited access areas in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These machinery provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
