Narrow Aisle Lift trucks
There are especially designed lift trucks which operate in narrow warehouse aisles. These machines are often known as narrow aisle or very narrow aisle forklifts. They can negotiate smaller aisles with ease and allow you to enjoy some benefits. Like for example, the increased amount of area to store stuff could significantly increase a company's overall available inventory.
The narrow aisle lift truck is manufactured to maneuver rather easily, since they are designed specially to operate in confined spaces. Their different design has eliminated a lot of the items which are squished up into the design of the traditional lift truck's main body.
The disadvantage of narrow aisle lift trucks is that they are really slow in comparison to regular forklifts. Narrow aisle lift trucks would not work if you need to transport objects across large distances. In terms of speed they would not be a dependable option. If you also have a standard lift truck, this will not be a problem. You can simply use the narrow aisle forklift to move the load to a central site and then hand it off to a standard forklift that can travel the bulk of the distance in a timely and efficient method. Frequently, narrow aisle forklifts cannot handle as much lifting weight; thus, outside of smaller loads they are not going to be really effective.
Electric Lift Trucks
Conventional gas lift trucks are not a suitable option for indoor operations like stores or warehouses. They would not be as safe due to their fumes, or as cost-efficient or helpful compared to an electric powered model. Electric forklifts are usually engineered to look and function a lot like gas ones, but they use electric batteries which have to be recharged, instead of gasoline fuel.
The electrically powered forklift has become more common and for a range of reasons. These machinery can help companies save costs on fuel. Electric models would first cost more, but will eventually save you more over time. For instance, when gas prices go up, you will not be affected and will save a lot of cash. Electric units tend to last quite a bit longer than gas powered units also. This is partly due to the fact they are mostly used indoors and thus don't get as dirty or work in as harsh environments as the gas powered units. Electric models are healthier to utilize in badly ventilated places like indoor operations and warehouses since they don't emit noxious fumes. It could be very dangerous to utilize diesel or gas lift trucks indoors.
Among the main disadvantages to electric forklifts is the fact they can usually just work for one 8 hour shift before the battery needs to be charged for another shift. Many businesses get around this condition by buying a spare battery so they can continually cycle them and have less downtime. There are fast charge batteries emerging on the market that are also reducing the charging time.
