An emergency eyewash station must be located near the charging place. The path to the station must not be blocked and a worker who is injured should be able to go to the eyewash post from the charging place in 10 seconds without running.
Charger Safety
The battery and charger should be at the same amperage. It should be turned off while the battery is being plugged in.
Open Flames
Open flames are prohibited in the vicinity of a battery and charging area. Do not permit items like lighters or matches to be used when somebody is inspecting the fluid levels in the battery.
Ventilation
The battery charging are also needs to be well ventilated. The recharging process can cause fumes to be released. These gases are both toxic and explosive.
