Reach Truck
In order to keep storage places orderly and to store supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck comes in several models: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The stand-up is the most basic. The truck forks slide underneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage location. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular type of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are just one pallet deep.
Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is like the stand-up, is commonly used. This particular version has telescopic forks designed to place the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when another pallet needs to go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the additional advantage of being able to not only slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This particular model is best in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Inside the majority of warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies utilize different kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to operate and can increase production while making the most of available storage space.
